Caring for your tattoo starts as soon as your tattoo is completed, and we have created a simple guide for you, to help ensure that your tattoo heals perfectly.
Upon tattoo completion
The artist will apply antibiotic ointment over it and cover it with a wrap to prevent bacteria infection. You should keep the dressing on for a few hours as it will also protect the tattoo from staining your clothes by absorbing any excess ink and fluids.
Keep the dressing on for as long as your tattoo artist recommends, which may be just a few hours. It’ll help absorb any fluid or excess ink that leaks from the tattoo.
After a few hours
Remove the wrap and clean the tattoo with warm water and fragrance-free soap. Dry the tattooed area with a soft cloth before applying a small amount of fragrance-free and alcohol-free moisturiser or tattoo balm, which can be purchased from our studio.
For the next 2-3 weeks
To ensure optimum healing for your tattoo, avoid unnecessary sun exposure to the tattooed area. Do not apply sunblock to your tattoo until it is fully healed. During the healing process, your tattoo will start to scab. This is completely normal but avoid scratching or picking at the scabs. Other than showering, avoid immersing the tattooed area in water.
